I am an Assistant Research Professor in Atmospheric Sciences at the University of North Dakota. My research combines atmospheric observations, numerical modeling, and artificial intelligence to study weather hazards and improve operational decision-making, particularly for aviation and uncrewed aircraft systems.

Dr. Marwa Majdi develops observation- and data-driven approaches to understand and predict atmospheric conditions that affect visibility, cloud ceiling, aviation, and environmental decision-making. Her broader scientific background includes aerosol chemistry, wildfire impacts on air quality, and cloud microphysics. She also mentors undergraduate and graduate researchers in scientific computing, data workflows, and research communication.

Dr. Majdi received an award from the North Dakota Department of Water Resources, Data & Atmospheric Resources Division, for research combining radar, GOES, WRF, statistics, and interpretable machine learning to evaluate hail-seeding effectiveness in western North Dakota.
