Fog Detection & Visibility Estimation

I am an Assistant Research Professor in Atmospheric Sciences at the University of North Dakota. My research combines atmospheric observations, numerical modeling, and artificial intelligence to study weather hazards and improve operational decision-making, particularly for aviation and uncrewed aircraft systems.
About
Dr. Marwa Majdi develops observation- and data-driven approaches to understand and predict atmospheric conditions that affect visibility, cloud ceiling, aviation, and environmental decision-making. Her broader scientific background includes aerosol chemistry, wildfire impacts on air quality, and cloud microphysics. She also mentors undergraduate and graduate researchers in scientific computing, data workflows, and research communication.
